all in the family

i am going to present a scenario. please tell me if this is either normal/psycho/slightly creepy/promising/other....

i have a crush. i think it is a good thing. this does not happen very often. i have had this crush for about approximately 6 years. when i first developed the crush, this person was approximately 14 years old. hmm weird i know but hear me out. i really have not met anyone like him before. he is kind, sensitive, musical, outgoing, creative, and a leader. we have a strong connection. he is now 20. i am slightly older by almost a decade. (decades are over rated) oh and i guess the one element that people consider to be a big deal is that he is my cousin. my first cousin. when i meet guys, i think "oh he is lame. i would rather be hanging out with my cousin." i just found out he put a picture of us on his my space profile and i was happy. i was happy you guys. i am a weirdo. and so that is why i will be moving to kentucky.

i have zero hot cousins otherwise i bet i would empathize with you.

when i was a little tiny tot, i was just sure i was going to marry my brother when i grew up. one wife and two kids later, he apparently felt differently.

my brother wanted to marry me when we were little. but i think its because he just didnt have very many options back then. and colls you live in st george so its basically the same thing.

i hate all my cousins. (that's not true.) however, first-cousin relationships aren't that strange. there may be a slightly higher chance of birth defects, but nothing like siblings. plus, there's always adoption (which is the only responsible choice what with the overpopulation problem). then there's a rich history of first-cousin relationships. so don't let anyone tell you it's strange.

biologically speaking, it's only abnormal to be attracted to siblings you are raised with. so if you have a biological brother that you didn't know about and then accidentally meet him one day, chances are you'd be attracted to him. but you would normally be attracted to step-siblings who you are raised with even though you aren't actually related. or that's what i read.

i meant you wouldn't normally be attracted to step-siblings you are raised with.

yeah it takes awhile for those genetic defects to manifest so dont let that hold you back.

oh i forgot until just now about the guy who wanted to date me and then we found out that we were second cousins (i thought i was in the clear - GREAT excuse!) and then he did a bunch of searching and let me know that it's legal in the united states to marry your second cousin.

so maybe you should start looking at all your second cousins, coll, because it would be sad if you had to move to kentucky.

it actually depends on the state. in utah i think you have to be third. unless you are over 50. then anyone is fair game.

but just dont get married. you dont need the state to approve your feelings. all the potential problems -- genetic problems with off-spring and the illegality of marrying first cousins -- can be bypassed if you just dont get married and adopt.

thank you for your support. after writing this post, i had a dream about the cousin. i think i was worried he would read this blog and then i would be embarrassed. but after reading your responses, i do not feel ashamed for how i feel.

I had a step cousin who I thought was hot in the 6th grade, then in the 7th grade I started hanging out with the "sk8'rs" and I thought she looked like a rocker. When I was i the 9th grade I thought she looked like a west valley chick (which she was) but she had a really hot friend. When I turned 16 I wanted her to not be in our family anymore because I was ashamed of her and when I was 21 my wish came true.

I don't think you're weird, but I now think I am!
